Hi, 

Im Alana, owner and proprieter of Alana Fraser makeup and beauty 

I specialise in brows, nails and intimate waxing and have recently rediscovered my love of pedicures and added them back onto my menu

I feel like at this stage you all know me but maybe you dont?

I started my journey in beauty at the tender age of 17 when I trained at Brownym Conroy school of beauty in Belfast with the dream of working on a cruise ship and travelling the world or furthering my makeup skills with tv and film special effects makeup, I wanted to create the creatures from films like Death becomes her and beetlejuice and An american werwolf in London, The classics!

I loved my training, particulary waxing nails and makeup, despite being told I had the most exquisite hands for massage. (that compliment will stay with me forever) and had a job lined up before I even graduated so was off to a great start.

My second job was my first home and I stayed there for 14 years and gained a wealth of experience and an extremely busy diary doing all types of beauty and spa treatments and I began as an educator part time for a beauty company training therapists in the industries top Manicure, pedicure, makeup, spray tan and later gel polish.

I went on to work full time as a rep for that company when I discovered not long into that new job that i was expecting, I left to have Alfie and decided to work for myself from home and to refresh things and train in some special effects, film and tv make up courses. I then was given the chance to work on a pretty well known tv show and it all just took off!

Along the way I met an amazing friend and we opened our first shared salon space in Lisburn before moving to a bigger space and renting hair and beauty spaces out. We had the best journey together and learnt so much about where we we wanted our businesses to go so we parted ways and are still the best of friends today,

When we moved to hillsborough It made sense to have a home salon now we had the space and it was the best decision, it has given me the freedom to comit to doing film and tv full time and im finally living my dream

I have my loyal clients, my ride or dies that have stuck with me throughout. some of you from day 1 of my career and I would be lost without you all and I know its not always easy to get booked in with me 

I close my books when im filming as it is pretty full on, then in quieter times I open up some more slots, you can always book 4 weeks ahead on a saturday and then midweek tends to be more last minute when i know what im working

Its not a system that works for everyone but Im thankful that I have found a system that works for you while allowing me to look after so many of you and also to keep my dream alive working in film and tv
